6 days, two classes per day with professors Serena Gabrielli & Andrea Verdemare from Flow Jiu Jitsu HQ in Rome.
The camp has gathered together 38 athletes from many different academies, almost all Sicilian teams were present and other mainland teams joined the training.
The technical baggage brought in has been particularly enlightening and very linear and coherent throughout.
During the 5 days, the concepts and techniques explained followed a structure bringing up a complete game plan.
The theory focused on concepts on guard pulling and its sweeps variations, guard pulling and playing De La Riva to take the back or sweep, details on back control, concepts of guard passing, spider guard, spider-lasso, x-guard and their relative sweeps and finally some insight in their peculiarity, the berimbolo!
The techniques were introduced progressively, transition after transition introducing key concepts for the open guard, but also giving the participants time for questions and answers (and sparring!)
The atmosphere was fantastic and both Andrea & Serena proved to be not only amazing competitors and professors, but also humble and great people!
Thank you again to all people who made this camp possible, professors, athletes, to my hometeam Ground Pressure Team Messina, who hosted the event and everyone who helped on and off the mat!
