For a pain in the knee, i didn't train in Rotterdam unfortunately.
Instead i slept in a oom with 14 other people, yes, it was couchsurfing, visited the city with an italian and ate with people from singapour.
Yes, it was super weird but amazing =)
From Bremen to Groningen, another border, a new country.
I traveled with my previous host, Marcelo, until Groningen, and we met my new host, Kars, a photograher. He was hosting another guy from Malaysia. That what i really love with couchsurfing, you meet loads of different people. I love that.
For the training, Marcelo was invited to train and give the lesson on Gracie Barra Groningen. I was invited few month ago when i was planed my trip.
The sensation to come on an academy you know just with some photo, some text with a member, this is weird to explain. And not the first on that trip. I don't know how to explain, you see all of the pictures, so you already know how look like the place, but you don't know the dimention, the folk, the smell...
Anyway, as the acedemies i went, the people was cool, that was also such a hard training. The people didn't let me a chance, i needed to be focus in every sparrings.
Usually, the professors are the blue belts, i guess with that, when you have a traveler, you still want to judge yourself, to estimate your skills. I totally understand, i would be on that way too. That's normal.
Anyway, the folk was nice, smilling and on the meantime very serious. I was very impressed by that. Usually people are not to manage to do both. For exemple, on my own Judo club, on friday evening, when people are on the week-end and relax, it's very hard for my professor to focus them on the lesson.
I really enjoyed that academy, and was my penultimate training before the premature end of my trip.
In the middle of the Denmark you find Odense.
Danish, quiet, and nice city.
Quiet? Yes, not totally crazy like Copenhagen, much less expensive and very pleasant :)
I liked walking on the streets of Odense. Small houses, history and all.
It's the place of birth of the author Hans Christian Andersen, who created "The little mermaid" and so on... But Odense has also the church with the last viking king bones : Knut.
City of history, lovely city !
We do like to travel and train. After a trip around Europe, we couldn't stop doing it. Unfortunately, time is not always there. We try to update this globetrotting blog as much as we can !
