Flensburg !

What a cold and rainy weather when i was, so i didn't visit so much.
What is flensburg ?
The nordest city in Germany, weird to say that, i was in München few days ago !
Flensburg is an harbor, wild nature, looks like Danemark, very pretty !
Between viking, modernity and christianism !
I had a feeling of peace there, i mean, everything is quiet, the people drive peacefully.

I notice definitly the differences between north and south, that's really interesting !

i mean the hairs, morphology, way to be.
I mean between Bologna and Flensburg everything change but even Hamburg and Flensburg !
The architecture is so different but still close. hard to explain.
At least pics speaks for me ;)
Next step Copenhagen !

Four hours by car run very quickly, with music, being stupid, singing, talking and obviously thanks to the German highways eheh
We arrived in Hamburg and we quickly understood that we were going to like it a lot!
So green and clean, big windows in every house!
We went back from the fairytale looking up above us. One minute before it was sunny and hot, what is THAT? Raining heavily. Hour after? Sun and hot. This weather routine went on and on for all our permanence there, but kept that apart all was great and, we have to admit, much nicer than Berlin.
Picture
Before meeting our couchsurfer host, we visited some places of the center, one of them the Planten um Blumen Park full of summer colored blossoms and a very pretty artificial lake in which we enjoyed our beers and noticed that something was going on a little bit further:

the Hamburger DOM!
This was the typical German funfair with the rides and the smell of krauts and Bratwursts from every angle!
We took the chance to have a go on its Ferris wheel, first time for both of us, looks weird but that's it!

Picture
We were very fortunate to share the couch with our host with whom we spent hour and hour talking and was absolutely welcoming and generous with us.
He made us taste any kind of German bread and brought us out for a brunch on the last day.
He also made us a personalised U-bahn (underground) map with the main places to visit.
The city is very pretty and full of great venues to walk around and visit.

We had our only training at Nexus Fighter Academy, in which we had an open mat with 8 different academies, plus me and Jonas!
That's just amazing, feeling the no politics Jiu Jitsu in the air, people helping each other improving their game instead of keeping secrets their techniques!
Everyone can just drastically improve from situations like that.
We didn't meet the professor of the academy, but I'm sure we will come back here to train and visit.
It followed a rainy run to the u-bahn and to a nice German pub to recollect our energies with 3 (yes, 3.) flammkuchen!
Our Hamburger experience finished here, Gloria's flight was ready to go and me ready to leave to my next stop: Flensburg

"ICH BIN EIN BERLINER"
Haha sorry, i had this quote on my head during my time in Berlin... I needed to share :D
After few km in the crazy german highway (i say crazy because german drive VERY fast) i finally arrived at my couch :
Team IMAG BJJ Academy
Yeah, i slept in the academy ! First time in this trip (not of my life obv)
Weird place, home made bed with wood and a piece of mat, but who needs more ? Okay, guilty i bought pillows (because of my girlfriend the last day btw)
the weird thing is : the beds are on the male changing room, sorry when you are here with you GF, it's a bit complicated.
Something creepy happened btw... I was sleeping and at 4:30 AM the cleaner came (speaking just German obviously) and told me a lot of stuff. Imagine, no lences, no glasses, sleepy a lot and without any German skills... WTF ? :D
Anyway, i did a lot of trainings there, BJJ, No gi, Drills... and you have many different classes, boxing and martial arts!
The mat is VERY clean (washed 2 or 3 times per week)
I saw the main monuments in Berlin.
Brandenburg Tor, Berlin's wall, Jews monument and the best (for me) : street art !

Gloria:

"I finally joined Jonas after two days there and we trained in the evening with the same group of bjj he trained in the previous days.
The warm up was, from both of us' points of view, the highest paced one we ever witnessed and practised ahaha
The coach was an amazing 40 kg Purple belt who based the lesson of different solutions and variants of a sort of extern uchi-mata, helped personally with big difficulties I had due to my none experience in Judo. She made explained to me the technique time after time and in every single detail and made me feel it performed by her, also to see the differences in applying it to an higher person like Jonas and a shorter one like her.

We rolled in the end and I tried and finally made it with the lesson of the day! I felt good and empowered!
I highly recommend this academy above all to women, cause you will be able to meet great female athletes that will inspire you in your bjj paths with their own experience. To make some examples, they competed in the male division in able to improve as much as they could and to have more opponents, the always refused to cut weight for the same reasons, the coach challenged herself with 17 competitions in just one year once she took the blue belt.
Great vibes also from the other guys around, curious about us and our trip!
The morning after, awaken thanks to the cleaner, we had breakfast and packed our stuff for the next road trip, our first together: Hamburg

14th Augsburg

15th Munich

16th Nuremberg
17th Dresden. I challanged myself quite a lot lately. This hectic itinerary literally wrecked me. The road, always new couches and new hosts and, I've to admit it, bad diet.
But finally here we are. Arrived at the airport with two hours sleep, but too happy recollecting my girlfriend. First time together since the start of my trip!
For this time we managed to catch a great offer in an hotel. Finally a real bed!

Guys, you just can't imagine what does it feel reaching a REAL bed after days and days on sofas in shared room with your hosts for most of the times.
This short weekend was exactly what I needed: a regenerating one.
I recharged my batteries, I feel stronger and happier now.
Dresden surprised me a lot. I had no expectations for this city and me and Gloria both agree on how pretty and charming it is. We also had the chance to enjoy it during a very hot and clear summer weekend, from which the sunset was absolutely stunning.

We discovered the Fürstenzug, a large mural of a mounted procession of the rulers of Saxony, also the world's biggest ceramic mural!

...and walked around the Semper Gallery :)
